The Office for Recreation and Sport granted $19,000 under its IRIS grants program (Inclusive Recreation, Inclusive Sport) to enable the new RDA Barossa and Light centre purchase an office building and a portable, disability accessible toilet.
RDA standards require a disability accessible toilet at all centres, so securing one for the new B&L centre was imperative. This facility is available for other users, for example, on Pony Club rally and competition days.
The new office building is secure and comfortable, allowing RDA information to be stored and maintained safely onsite, alleviating the need for volunteers to carry confidential paperwork to and from their homes.
Thanks to the Office for Recreation and Sport for making this possible. February 2010

The Commonwealth Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FAHCSIA) has approved a grant of $2,200 for RDA Barossa and Light centre.
The grant will be used in 2010 to assist with petrol reimbursements to volunteers.
RDA Barossa & Light volunteers are required to transport the centre's ponies from a property at Kapunda, some 25kms from the centre. This is a significant cost and time burden for the volunteers involved. Sharing these grant monies among volunteers will help defray some of their travel costs.
