Thanks to a generous donation of $100 000 in 2006 from Paul Newman's Own Foundation, RDASA has made a positive start towards setting up a Mobile Unit. This will be based in Adelaide to take RDA to clients unable to otherwise access our services. The unit will also allow RDA to deliver training sessions where they are needed.
The unit will comprise a truck capable of carrying several horses, plus all associated equipment (saddlery, mounting ramp, facilities for volunteers).
The aim is to run the unit like a normal RDA centre, with volunteers - one or two coaches, volunteer sidewalkers and horse leaders, a truck driver and someone willing to do the administrative work (e.g. rider registrations, etc.).
New volunteers welcome!
