RDA Yorke Peninsula is one of two RDA SA centres which will share a grant of $13,475 from Australian Hotels Association SA, to install disability accessible portaloos at their centres. The other centre sharing this grant is Mount Barker.

Hot Weather policy
RDA Yorke Peninsula centre committee does not expect or wish for anyone to be working in extreme heat conditions.
Riding sessions will be cancelled when the forecast temperature for "Port Pirie" is 33 degrees or higher, as reported on the 6pm GTS BKN News on the evening before the riding session.
All clients and volunteers are expected and requested to check the forecast temperature the night before the riding session to find out if lessons will be cancelled.

Vision and Goals for the future
March 2009
Short Term:
- Have own secure office set up within 12 months
- To have three sessions on Tuesday
- More horses to enable three sessions = eight horses
- More volunteers
- a Volunteer-Day administrator to organise, meet and greet, do paperwork and do whiteboard for RDA sessions
Long Term:
- Our own area, at least 15 acres to incorporate trail rides, carriage driving dressage area, indoor arena, stables, individual yards and games paddock.
- Horses to be kept on site in a secure and not isolated area
- RDA sessions to be increased to three days each week
- Larger committee with skills needed to help RDA YP develop and grow
