Volunteer Documents

Volunteers

Volunteers need to complete a Volunteer Registration form before they commence volunteering with us. They must also re-register annually at the start of each calendar year.  Registration is mandatory to ensure that volunteers are insured.

Below is the Volunteer Registration Form for the current year.

If you are an adult (over 18 years) you will also be required to undergo a National Police Clearance before working with the clients.  National Police Clearances are required to be updated every two years form the Date of Issue on the Certificate according to RDA SA Policies.

National Police Certificate application forms may be accessed from the SA Police website:  Police Check form

Complete the form online and print it. Take it to your local police station, along with your 100 points of identification and a photocopy of identification evidence. Then return the form to your RDA centre, or to State Office, for the RDA portions to be completed and signed by an authorised RDA person.
Then forward the form to SA Police Records Unit.  Riding for the Disabled is registered with SA Police for its volunteers to receive their police checks for free, but we must follow their exact procedure.
Once the applicant receives their Certificate, they must take it to their centre, or send it to State Office to be sighted by an authorised person.

A National Police Certificate is not required for volunteers aged less than 18.
