Fundraising for RDA can help in many different ways. Donations are used to help with ongoing projects, including:
- purchasing suitable horses and ponies for centres (through the Hero Fund, see below)
- improving riding areas for RDA riders (children and adults with disabilities)
- helping riders pay their annual registration fees (Rider Scholarship Fund, see below)

Buying special horses for special people
The Hero Horse Fund was set up in 2005 to provide centres with some money to help buy ponies and horses suitable for RDA.
Centres may apply for up to $4,000 every two calendar years, as long as they meet certain criteria.
About Hero
Hero has been the equine “face” of RDA SA for many years, appearing on printed materials and collection tin labels with RDA client Louise Howson. But why was he so special?
